Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is one of the most common reproductive endocrine disorders in women. Typical clinical manifestations include oligo-ovulation and/or anovulation, excess androgens, and polycystic ovaries. PCOS is associated with an increased risk of diabetes mellitus type 2 and cardiovascular disease, and its main pathological mechanism is insulin resistance (IR). IR is a pathological association between PCOS metabolism and reproductive abnormalities. In the past decade, inositol has been increasingly used in the treatment of PCOS due to its natural, non-toxic, and effective properties. Compared with Metformin, insulin sensitizers containing inositol are recommended for the treatment of patients with PCOS. This review intends to discuss it from the point of view of inositol in the treatment of PCOS-IR.

Research progress of the relationship between intestinal flora and cardiovascular disease
DOU Wenting1 LI Xiaohui2
Trimethylamine-N-oxide (TMAO), a metabolite of intestinal flora, promotes the occurrence and development of atherosclerosis through the activation of PKC/NF-κB pathway or stimulating foam cell formation. Elevated plasma TMAO can be used as a risk stratification index of poor prognosis in patients with heart failure. Short chain fatty acids, the metabolites of intestinal flora, affect the blood pressure level of host by binding to G-protein-coupled receptors. Meanwhile, intestinal flora can regulate blood pressure by affecting sympathetic nervous, which is the hypothesis of “brain-gut-bone marrow axis”. The abundance and structure of intestinal flora in children with Kawasaki disease have changed. Some special bacteria in the intestine have superantigen activity and can produce heat shock protein. These factors may involve in the occurrence and development of Kawasaki disease by affecting the release of inflammatory factors.

Research progress on the effect of substrate stiffness on cell biological behavior
DENG Bo’er KONG Weimin
Stiffness is an important parameter of micro nano mechanics, which can be divided into cell stiffness and substrate stiffness. Substrate stiffness can be understood as the elastic modulus or hardness of tissue, which provides support and specific physical signals for cell growth. With the development of atomic force microscope, the substrate stiffness can be measured at present. Substrate stiffness plays an important role in many biological behaviors of cells, such as cell morphology, cell migration, cell phenotype and function, and regulation of stem cell differentiation. These phenomena exist in both normal cells and tumor cells, and have different meanings. In tumor tissue, substrate stiffness may also affect the invasiveness of tumor and the sensitivity of anti-tumor drugs. Understanding the mechanism of these phenomena may provide new ideas for the prognosis and treatment of tumors.

Thought of Professor Liu Jianhua in treating Ménière’s disease based on syndrome differentiation
ZHU Yajing LIU Jianhua YAN Zhanfeng JIAO Lulu LIU Siming LIU Lili ZHANG Linjing WANG Xin
Ménière’s disease is a common clinical disease of the inner ear. Because of its vertigo, it is easy to relapse, which leads to hearing loss and seriously affects life and work of people. Professor Liu Jianhua believes that the etiology and pathogenesis of this disease is often due to deficiency of liver, spleen and kidney, with endogenous wind, fire and phlegm drink, so as to blind the orifices and cause dizziness. Professor Liu Jianhua advocates the staging treatment. At the acute stage, the treating principle focuses on eliminating wind, fire and phlegm, while also pays attention to strengthening spleen and dispersing stagnated liver qi liver. At the chronic stage, the treating principle is to invigorate spleen to reduce watery phlegm, and nourishing liver and kidney as the key. It is the good use of paired herbal medicines to enhance the efficacy and simplify the formulas in clinical treatment. This paper summarizes Professor Liu Jianhua’s experience in the long-term treatment of Ménière’s disease based on syndrome differentiation, and expounds the typical clinical cases in order to provide reference for the treatment of Ménière’s disease by traditional Chinese medicine.

Drug-induced thrombocytopenia induced by Fucididic Acid: a case report and literature review
XIAO Kun ZHANG Cuiling
Drug-induced thrombocytopenia (DITP) refers to a disease in which the platelet count is lower than the normal range (<100×109/L) caused by drugs, resulting in bleeding and other symptoms. A patient who the author accepted with pulmonary infection caused by methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus developed thrombocytopenia during the course of anti-infection treatment with conventional Fusidic Acid (FA), and was diagnosed as DITP. After treatment with discontinuance of medication and intensive monitoring, the platelet count returned to the reference range. The prognosis of this patient is good, but it is worth clinical reflection and experience summary: first of all, there have been many case reports on DITP caused by cephalosporins and Linezolid, but there are few reports on FA induced thrombocytopenia, and case reports are needed to improve clinical vigilance; secondly, both severe infection and antibiotics can cause thrombocytopenia, so it is necessary to discuss the causal relationship, judge and summarize the clinical features to make a good diagnosis and differential diagnosis; thirdly, the occurrence of DITP includes multiple mechanisms, and the treatment methods for DITP caused by different mechanisms are different, so it is necessary to analyze the mechanism of DITP caused by FA and explore its treatment plan. Therefore, this paper reports the diagnosis and treatment of one patient and reviews the relevant literature, introduces the diagnosis, clinical features, treatment, prognosis and pathogenesis of DITP caused by FA, in order to improve the awareness and vigilance of clinicians, so as to make early diagnosis, timely treatment and improve the prognosis.
