Application of continuous static stretching combined with passive exercise training in patients after elbow joint fracture surgery |

Abstract Objective To explore the application of continuous static stretching combined with passive exercise training in patients after elbow joint fracture surgery. Methods A total of 70 patients with elbow fractures from January 2018 to January 2020 in West China Hospital of Sichuan University were selected as the research objects. According to the random number table method, they were divided into the control group and the observation group, with 35 cases in each group. The control group was received passive exercise training, and the observation group was received continuous static stretching combined with passive exercise training. The elbow function and range of motion of the two groups at each time point were evaluated and compared before and two weeks, six weeks, 12 weeks and 24 weeks after surgery. Postoperative recovery time and complications during hospitalization were recorded in both groups. Results Overall analysis showed that there were significant differences in Mayo elbow function scoring standard score and interaction between group, time point and group time point of elbow motion between two groups (P < 0.05). The improvement time of elbow function and fracture healing time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). There were no occurrence of complications in both groups. Conclusion Continuous static stretching combined with passive exercise training have high safety in the treatment of elbow joint fracture surgery, which can improve the function of the patient’s elbow joint and the range of motion of the elbow joint, and promote the postoperative recovery of patients.
