Abstract The problem of aging in China is becoming increasingly prominent. Among the elderly, disabled elderly also account for a certain proportion. The phenomenon of “physical and mental illness” of the disabled elderly at home is increasing day by day, which puts forward new challenges for the mental health and disease care of the elderly. According to the traditional Chinese medicine emotional therapy, emotional factors are not only the cause of disease, but also the important factors causing the pathogenesis and disease fluctuation. Therefore, active traditional Chinese medicine emotional therapy for disabled elderly can not only improve their mental health level, but also improve their body function and enhance their sense of life and happiness. In the clinical nursing practice of the disabled elderly at home, the family members of the disabled elderly, social workers and relevant health service institutions can work together to provide multi-party assistance for the disabled elderly in home-based care from the aspects of relieving mood, establishing self-confidence, making up each other’s emotions, being positive and optimistic, adjusting self-confidence, calming down and tapping advantages year.
