LIU Ming1 WANG Shun2 HUANG Shuming3
First, through questionnaire investigation among experts, this paper explored the documents and materials one must rely on when writing English instruction format of Chinese medicinal products (CMPs). Then, through retrieving and summarizing the problems of the instruction writing raised by the papers commenting on the format writing in CNKI, and through comparing the laws and regulations of U.S. FDA on prescription drug labeling, we reached the conclusion that when a CMP is exported to the countries where the product is regarded as a drug, drug instruction format should be taken as English instruction according to the laws and regulations of these target countries. Furthermore, this paper explored how to write the format of an English instruction of a Chinese medicinal product when it is regarded as a dietary supplement, through reviewing and analyzing related labeling rules and regulations of U.S.FDA on dietary supplements, combining the labeling examples of five famous international health care products companies.
