| Effect of Bushen Huoxue Decoction in treating amenorrhea caused by polycystic ovary syndrome with syndrome of kidney deficiency and blood stasis |

Abstract Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Bushen Huoxue Decoction in treating amenorrhea caused by polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) with syndrome of kidney deficiency and blood stasis. Methods A total of 20 patients with amenorrhea caused by PCOS with syndrome of kidney deficiency and blood stasis treated in Outpatient Department of Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine of Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine in Zhejiang Province from March to July 2014 were collected, all patients were treated with Bushen Huoxue Decoction for 3 months. The menstrual status, TCM syndromes, clinical signs and levels of sex hormones of the patients before and after treatment were statistically analyzed. Results After 3 months of treatment, the scores of TCM syndromes, the body weight, body mass index (BMI), hirsutism scores, the percentage of acanthosis nigricans, serum luteinizing hormone (LH) and the ratio of LH/follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) were all decreased significantly compared with those before treatment, the differences were all statistically
