Visual analysis of research hotspots and trends of drug-food homology based on CiteSpace |

Abstract Objective To understand the research hotspots and trends in the field of drug-food homology, and to provide reference for deeper and broader research in the future. Methods Literatures on drug-food homology were searched from CNKI database from base-building to November 2020, and CiteSpace 5.7.R1 software was used for visual analysis of authors, institutions and keywords. Results A total of 1282 articles were included, and the total number of articles was on the rise. The largest articles number of institution was Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine, but lack of cooperation between the author teams and research institutions. The research focuses mainly on the drug-food homology, antioxidation, safety, health food and related diseases, etc. Conclusion The research teams and institutions should carry out interdisciplinary and cross regional cooperation and exchanges; the research direction is to increase high-level mechanism research, explore more dominant diseases of drug-food homology, and strengthen the discussion of traditional Chinese medicine classics and the theory of drug-food homology.
