Comparison of megnetic suction pain assessment scale and visual analogue scale in the application of postoperative nursing of total hip arthroplasty#br# |

Abstract Objective To compare the application value of magnetic suction pain assessment scale and visual analogue scale (VAS) in postoperative nursing after total hip arthroplasty (THA). Methods A total of 84 patients treated with THA in the Department of Orthopedics, Anqing Municipal Hospital from January 2018 to January 2020 were prospectively selected as the research subjects, they were divided into control group and observation group according to the odd or even number of medical records, with 42 cases in each group, the control group was used VAS in postoperative nursing; the observation group was used magnetic suction pain assessment scale in postoperative nursing; nursed until one day before discharge, the improvement of pain was compared between the two groups; before nursing and one day before discharge. The negative emotions (hospital anxiety and depression scale [HAD] ) and sleep quality (Pittsburgh sleep quality index [PSQI]) of the two groups were compared; the satisfaction of pain assessment was compared of patients in the two groups. Results One day before discharge, the pain scores, HAD and PSQI scores of both groups were lower than those before nursing, and the each score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group (P < 0.05); the total satisfaction rate of pain assessment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Compared with VAS, magnetic suction pain assessment scale in nursing after THA is more conducive to relieving sense of pain, reducing negative emotions and improving sleep quality of patients, which has certain significance to improve the satisfaction with pain assessment of patients.
