Abstract  Objective To explore the application effect of targeted nursing based on International Classification of Function, Disability and Health (ICF) in postoperative rehabilitation nursing of breast cancer patients. Methods A total of 112 patients who underwent modified radical breast cancer surgery in the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from August 2019 to January 2020 were selected as the research objects. The patients were divided into observation group and control group by random number table method, with 56 cases in each group. Constant-Murley shoulder function scores were compared between the two groups at one week and 1, 3 months after surgery. The functional assessment of cancer therapy-breast (FACT-B) score of breast cancer patients at one week and three months after surgery was compared between the two groups. Results The overall analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences in the comparison between the two groups of total shoulder function, time point comparison and interaction (P < 0.05). Two further comparison, compare within the group, two groups of shoulder joint function score higher than at 1, 3 months after one week, and the total functional scores of shoulder joint in both groups were higher at three months after surgery than 1 month after surgery (P < 0.05); Comparison between groups: the total score of shoulder joint function in observation group was higher than that in control group one and three months after operation (P < 0.05). Three months after operation, the dimensions and total scores of quality of life in the observation group were higher than those in the control group one week after operation, and the observation group was higher than the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Targeted nursing measures based on ICF can promote the recovery of upper limb function and improve the quality of life of breast cancer patients.
