Consideration and discussion on the acupoint compatibility on acupuncture and moxibustion in treating insulin resistance obesity |

Abstract Based on the basic pathogenesis of insulin resistant obesity and gastrointestinal motility, the author discusses the compatibility and methods of acupoint on acupuncture and moxibustion in the prevention and treatment of insulin resistant obesity: focusing on the basic pathogenesis, paying attention to the train of thought of the combination of syndrome differentiation and meridian differentiation; giving play to the characteristics and advantages of acupuncture and moxibustion “preventing disease”, and advocating the method of “manifestation and root cause with acupoint”; drawing lessons from modern scientific research achievements, paying attention to the scientific connotation of acupoint compatibility. With reference to this idea and method, the basic prescription of acupuncture and moxibustion in treating insulin resistant obesity is preliminarily established: zúsānlǐ, tàibái, zhōngwǎn, guānyuán, fēnglóng, xiàjùxū and shàngjùxū, in order to provide reference for clinical practice and scientific research of acupuncture and moxibustion in treating insulin resistant obesity.
