Meta analysis on the rules of acupuncture and moxibustion of vascular dementia |

Abstract Objective To analyze and summarize the rules of acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of vascular dementia. Methods The relevant literatures of acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of vascular dementia from December 2010 to December 2020 in CNKI database, Wanfang database and VIP database were searched. Chinese key words included acupuncture, acupuncture treatment, acupuncture, acupoints, electroacupuncture, acupoint selection, acupoints, vascular dementia, etc. English search terms included acupunture therapy, moxibustion, and vascular dementia. A total of 36 literatures were screened by computer retrieval, which met the requirements. The data was entered and statistically analyzed by Microsoft Excel 2016 software, and included into the compatibility rules of relevant acupoints in the literature. Results The first three meridians involved in acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of vascular dementia were du meridian, stomach meridian, and gallbladder meridian. Bǎihuì, zúsānlǐ, sìshéncōng, fēngchí, sānyīnjiāo were the top five main acupoints. The top five points used as matching points were zhōngwǎn, tàixī, tàichōng, nèiguān, bǎihuì, zúsānlǐ. Conclusion The treatment of vascular dementia with acupuncture and moxibustion is mainly based on the selection of local acupoints on the head combined with the matching of distal acupoints. The principle and feature of acupuncture and moxibustion is the combination of disease differentiation and dialectics.
