Abstract Objective To systematically evaluate the correlation between psoriasis and hypertension. Methods Relevant literatures about the correlation between psoriasis and hypertension published from inception to October 2020 were searched from CNKI, Wanfang Data, VIP, CBM, PubMed, Cochrane and Embase. Two investigators were independently responsible for screening literatures, extracting data and assessing the quality. The software version 16.0 of Stata was used for meta analysis. Results A total of 35 literatures were included. Meta-analysis results showed that the prevalence of hypertension in the psoriasis group was significantly higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (OR = 1.75, 95%CI: 1.58-1.94, P < 0.001). The prevalence of hypertension in mild (OR = 1.27, 95%CI: 1.24-1.30, P < 0.001) and severe psoriasis group (OR = 1.54, 95%CI: 1.24-1.89, P < 0.001) was higher than that in control group. Subgroup analysis according to published regions showed that the prevalence of hypertension in the psoriasis group was higher than that in the control group in all regions, with statistical significance (P < 0.05). Conclusion Under the current data support, regardless of the severity of psoriasis, psoriasis is correlated with the prevalence of hypertension, suggesting that psoriasis may increase the risk of hypertension.
