Abstract The purpose of this study is to explore the application and teaching effect of early clinical probation system oriented by post competence in the practical teaching of oral medicine undergraduates. This research has designed a two-stage early clinical internship system including off-campus early internship and intramural early internship, scientifically selects teaching content, constructs supporting teaching materials, reforms the assessment and evaluation system and establishes a medical education collaborative education mechanism and cultivates professional and humanistic qualities of students. The reform of the early clinical internship system has a positive effect in cultivating the disease prevention ability, teamwork ability, interpersonal communication ability, knowledge mastering ability and professional quality of dental medicine students.
