Abstract Objective To study the expression of serum β-actin and G protein coupled receptor-4 (LGR4) in patients with gastric cancer and their diagnostic value in gastric cancer. Methods A total of 103 cases of gastric cancer patients (observation group) and 52 cases of benign gastric cancer at the same period (control group) treated in Hohhot Second Hospital were selected from February 2018 to June 2020. The expression levels of serum β-actin and LGR4 were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and the relationship between the two indexes and clinicopathological parameters were analyzed, the ROC curve was used to analyze the diagnosis of gastric cancer. Results The expression levels of β-actin and LGR4 in serum of observation group were higher than those of control group, with statistical significance (all P < 0.05). The expression of serum β-actin and LGR4 in patients with low to medium differentiation, Ⅲ-Ⅳ stage in TNM stage and without lymph node metastasis were higher than those in patients with high differentiation, Ⅰ-Ⅱ stage and with lymph node metastasis (P < 0.05). ROC curve analysis showed that when the cut-off values of β-actin and LGR4 in serum were 3.21 and 47.62 pg/mL, the ROC-AUC for diagnosis of gastric cancer was 0.747 and 0.782, respectively, and the combined detection was 0.869. Conclusion The expression levels of β-actin and LGR4 in gastric cancer were increased, and highly expressed in patients with low to moderate differentiation, Ⅲ-Ⅳ stage in TNM stage and no lymph node metastasis. The combined detection of β- actin and LGR4 may be used as molecular markers for the diagnosis of gastric cancer.
