| Application and evaluation of experimental animal model of hypertension |

Abstract Hypertension is a major risk factor for cardiovascular diseases, and the prevalence of hypertension is high, and the patients are getting younger in recent years. Nowadays, medical science is not satisfied with the treatment of hypertension and the main treatment is to control blood pressure and prolong survival time. The establishment of hypertension experimental animal models is of great significance for the study of the pathogenesis of hypertension, clinical treatment, therapeutic targets and drug development. At present, animal models are mostly used in small animals such as rats and mice, while the application of large animal models are limited under the influence of experimental cost, laboratory environment and experimental technology. In order to select suitable animal models for the study of disease in the future, this paper briefly introduces hypertension animal models such as spontaneously hypertensive rat, salt-sensitive hypertensive rat and 2-kidney-1-clip hypertensive rat.
