The effect of different acupoints of electroacupuncture on myocardial function in rats with myocardial ischemia injury |

Abstract Objective To explore the effect of different acupoints of electroacupuncture on myocardial function in rats with myocardial ischemia injury. Methods Sixty male Wistar rats were randomly divided into four groups by random number table method: normal group, model group, acupoint compatibility group, normal distribution group, with 15 rats in each group. Building methods: subcutaneous injection of Isoproterenol Hydrochloride (5 mL/kg) was given. Normal group: the same dose of 0.9% sodium chloride solution was injected, once a day, for one week. Model group was made the model. Acupoint compatibility group: the successful rats of the model were taken, and each day, the electric needle of the double “neiguan”, double “zusanli” and “guanyuan” were performed respectively for two weeks. Normal distribution group: "neiguan", double "shenmen" and "danzhong" were performed respectively, the followed method was as the same as the acupoint compatibility group. The changes of electrocardiogram in rats, and the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) and malondialdehyde (MDA) were observed. Results Compared with normal group, the heart rate (HR) in model group was accelerated significantly, and the amplitude of S-T segment was significantly enhanced, the differences were highly statistically significant (P < 0.01). After the electroacupuncture intervention, the HR of the acupoints in the acupoint compatibility group and normal distribution group was decreased, and the amplitude of S-T was decreased, which had statistically significant differences compared with those of model group (P < 0.05). Compared with the normal group, the activities of myocardial SOD and GSH-Px in the model group were decreased significantly, and the content of MDA was increased significantly, the differences were highly statistically significant (P < 0.01). After the electroacupuncture intervention, the activities of SOD and GSH-Px of the myocardium of the rats in the acupoint compatibility group and normal distribution group were significantly increased, and the content of MDA was decreased, which had statistically significant differences compared with those of model group (P < 0.05). Compared with normal distribution group, the activities of myocardial SOD and GSH-Px in the acupoint compatibility group were significantly increased, and the content of MDA was decreased significantly, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion Compatibility of acupuncture acupoints method has very good protection effect for myocardial ischemia, which can effectively reduce the myocardial cell degeneration and the myocardial tissue damage, and it can provide basis for clinical controlling the myocardial ischemic diseases with acupuncture.
