Abstract Objective To investigate the current situation of risk perception of nurses in Xi’an and to analyze the influence factors. Methods From September to November 2015, convenience sampling was adopted, and a total of 608 first-line clinical nurses in Xi’an were selected as the research objects. The general information questionnaire and nurses’ risk perception questionnaire (RPQN) were used to conduct a cross-sectional survey of risk perception. Results The risk perception score of nursing staff in Xi’an was (87.50±16.83) points, and the score rate was 62.50%, which was at a medium level. The top three dimensions of the score rate were physical function, occupational exposure, and time risk. The results of single factor analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences in the total risk perception scores of nursing staff of different ages, hospital levels, departments, years of service, education, and professional titles (P < 0.05). The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that professional titles and hospital grades were the influencing factors of nurses’ risk perception (P < 0.05), explaining a total of 3.4% of the variance. Conclusion The risk perception of nursing staff in Xi’an is at a medium level. Nursing managers should optimize the nursing workflow and staffing, focusing on the risk perception level of nurses and nurses in tertiary hospitals.
