The effect of Shenxiong Injection combined with Captopril on ventricular remodeling and serum brain natriuretic peptide in patients with myocardial infarction |

Abstract Objective To explore the effect of Shenxiong Injection combined with Captopril on ventricular remodeling and serum brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) in patients with myocardial infarction. Methods One hundred and forty patients with initial myocardial infarction in the Emergency Department in Baoji Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from March 2016 to March 2017 were selected and randomly divided into combined group and control group according to random number table method, with 70 cases in each group. The control group was given Captopril, the combined group was given Shenxiong Injection on basis of the control group, for a month. The chemiluminescence method was used to measure the level of natriuretic peptide (BNP) in patients before treatment and after treatment for 7 and 14 days. The left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVEDD), left ventricular end-diastolic volume (LVEDV), left ventricular end systolic volume (LVESV), ejection fraction (EF) were recorded with echocardiography before treatment and after treatment for 1 month. At the same time, the adverse reactions were statistically analyzed. Results After treatment for 1 month, LVEDV and LVESV in the control group were higher than those before treatment, and EF in the combined group was significantly higher than that before treatment, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). After treatment for 1 month, the levels of EF in combined group were significantly higher than those of control group (P < 0.05). After treatment for 7, 14 days, the BNP levels of the two groups were all significantly lower than those before treatment (P < 0.05), which of the combined group were lower than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). No serious adverse reactions were observed in either group. Conclusion The combined application of Shenxiong Injection and Captopril can improve left ventricular remodeling and prognosis in patients with myocardial infarction, reduce the levels of serum BNP, with obvious effect and good safety.
