Abstract The main form of social practice for medical students is “three to the countryside” social practice activities, through the development of medical voluntary services in the national health poverty alleviation strategy to play an important role. Taking the special social practice activity of “health poverty alleviation” organized by the central committee of the communist youth league and the communist youth league work union of pharmaceutical colleges as the research object, the outstanding characteristics and positive effects of the current medical colleges and universities organizing medical students to carry out social poverty alleviation volunteer service practice are summarized. Analyze the medical students in the process of medical volunteer service in the accuracy is not high, the integrity is not enough and the continuity is not strong and other related problems, and put forward the corresponding countermeasures in the aspects of thought guidance, activity platform construction and activity mode improvement.
