Abstract This paper summarizes Professor Wan Hua’s clinical experience in treating breast diseases with Rhizoma Coptidis. Professor Wan Hua believes that heat toxin and phlegm dampness are the key etiology and pathogenesis of breast diseases. Clinically, it emphasizes the combination of disease and syndrome differentiation, and attaches importance to the correlation between local syndrome differentiation and integral syndrome differentiation. From the perspective of heat toxin and phlegm dampness, the treatment methods of heat-clearing and detoxifying and drying dampness and dispersing phlegm are used according to syndrome differentiation. Carry out the idea of “communication is the most important, consumption is the most important”, we should focus on “qinghua” and “harmony”, flexibly using Rhizoma Coptidis for treatment focusing on elimination and balance. Two medical records are presented.
