Abstract In view of the difficulties in the teaching of biochemistry course for pharmacy in higher vocational college, centering on the goal of improving students’ learning interest and teaching effect, starting from the training goal of talents in pharmacy in higher vocational college the characteristics of students and the actual situation of the school, the main problems existing in the teaching of biochemistry was deeply diagnosed, the teaching philosophy that suitable for higher vocational pharmacy was analyzed and the teaching content optimization design aiming at the vocational job demand and the improvement of vocational skills were demonstrate. The teaching methods of stimulating students’ subjective initiative in learning are discussed with examples, the examination and evaluation methods are reformed to improve students’ professional quality in an all-round way, and the construction of teaching resource base considering students’ perspective is put forward to explore the path of improving the teaching quality of biochemistry courses in higher vocational colleges.
