Abstract Persistent infections with cervical high risk human papilloma virus (HR-HPV) is a necessary but insufficient condition to cause cervical cancer and precancerous lesions. Vaginal microecology is highly correlated with occurrence and development of infectious diseases in female genital tract. It is crucial for vaginal microecology research to study normal microbial bacteria inside vagina. Vagina bacterial diversity increasing, lactobacillus quantity decreasing and bacterial vaginosis significantly increase risk of susceptible and persistent infection of cervical HR-HPV, so as to promote progress of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and cervical cancer. Clinically, regulation of vaginal microecology shall be emphasized. Probably, restoration of vaginal microecology plays a role in indirectly promoting turning cervical HR-HPV infection to be negative.
