| Application of rapid rehabilitation nursing in perioperative period of patients with lumbar disc herniation |

Abstract Objective To explore the effect of rapid rehabilitation nursing in perioperative period of patients with lumbar disc herniation. Methods Sixty-three patients with lumbar disc herniation who were hospitalized in the Rehabilitation Department of Suzhou First People’s Hospital in Anhui Province from April 2018 to December 2019 were selected as the research objects. They were randomly divided into control group and observation group according to the random number table method. A total of 32 cases in the control group and 31 cases in the observation group. Patients in the control group received routine perioperative care, and patients in the observation group received rapid rehabilitation nuring. The nerve function of the lumbar and spinal nerve function, the time of exhaust, the time of getting out of bed, the length of hospitalization and postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. Results After intervention, the Oswestry disability index (ODI) score of the two groups were lower than those before intervention, and Japanese orthopaedic association (JOA) score were higher than those before intervention, with statistical significance (P ＜ 0.05); the ODI score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the JOA score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, with statistical significance (P ＜ 0.05). The exhaust time, getting out-of-bed, the length of hospitalization and postoperative complications (difficulity urinating, abdominal distension) in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, with statistical significance (P ＜ 0.05). Conclusion The application of the rapid rehabilitation concept can effectively improve the patients’ lumbar and spinal nerve function, shorten the exhaust time, shorten the time of getting out of bed, shorten the length of hospitalization, and significantly reduce the complications.
