Application of video combined with mind map health education in patients undergoing endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography |

Abstract Objective To explore the application effect of video combined with mind map health education in patients with endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography (ERCP). Methods From April 2017 to August 2019, 93 patients who underwent ERCP in the Affiliated Huai’an First People’s Hospital of Nanjing Medical University were selected. According to the random number table method, they were divided into 47 cases in the treatment group and 46 cases in the control group. The control group was given regular education, and the treatment group was given health education with video combined with mind map. ERCP knowledge awareness, negative emotions and complications were compared between the two groups. Results After education, the awareness rate of health related knowledge in the two groups increased significantly (P < 0.05); the awareness rate of disease knowledge, ERCP knowledge, medication management, psychological management, and healthy life in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05). The scores of self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) and self-rating depression scale (SDS) in both groups were significantly reduced (P < 0.01); SAS and SDS scores of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group (P < 0.01). The incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Video and mind map health education can help improve the health-related knowledge level of ERCP patients, relieve anxiety and depression, and reduce the occurrence of ERCP complications.
