Application effect of diversified teaching for standardized training of residents in ultrasound department |

Abstract Objective To explore the application value of diversified teaching methods based on post competency combined with problem-based learning (PBL) and case-based learning (CBL) in standardized training of resident in ultrasound department. Methods From January 2016 to December 2019, 89 physicians who received standardized training of resident in the Department of Ultrasound, Affiliated Minzu Hospital of Guangxi Medical University were selected as the subjects of the study. Forty-one physicians who received lecture-based learning (LBL) teaching method from January 2016 to February 2018 were included in the control group. From March 2018 to December 2019, 48 physicians who received diversified teaching of PBL and CBL were included in the experimental group. The results of the two groups’ passing examinations (written tests and skills) and questionnaires were compared. Results The written test, skill assessment and total score in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (all P < 0.05). The passing rate of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The satisfaction aspects of self-learning ability, humanistic care, communication ability, skill operation, teaching teacher, learning pressure in the experimental group were higher than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences (all P < 0.05). The teachers believed that the experimental group was more satisfied with the teaching atmosphere, students’ thinking ability, students’ operation report writing and students’ attitude than the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (all P < 0.05). Conclusion Diversified teaching based on post competency combined with PBL and CBL is conducive to improving the teaching quality of standardized training for resident physicians in ultrasound department, and can better train medical professionals with both ability and quality.
