Qualitative study of the real experience of newly recruited nurses on standardized training in department of emergency |

Abstract Objective To explore the real experience of newly recruited nurses on standardized training in the emergency department. Methods Using phenomenological research methods, the reflective diaries of 36 nurses who were newly recruited in Tenth People’s Hospital of Tongji University in Shanghai from August 2019 to May 2020 were analyzed, summarized and abstracted using Colaizzi phenomenological data seven-step analysis method. Results Six themes were extracted, including theoretical knowledge of first aid to be improved, skills of emergency specialists to be enhanced, model mentors to take the lead, strong willingness for emergency training in public health emergencies, nursing and patient communication skills to be enhanced, and professional identity to be improved. Conclusion Nursing managers should take effective training measures according to the psychological characteristics of new recruited nurses in the standardized training in the emergency department in different periods, and further improve the standardized pre-job training for new recruited nurses in the emergency department, so as to help them adapt to the emergency environment as soon as possible, improve the comprehensive ability of nursing and improve the quality of nursing.
