Abstract Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common chronic neurodevelopment disorder in children. From 4.2% to 6.5% of children and adolescents in China suffer from cognitive dysfunction due to ADHD, which may affects their quality of life seriously. At present, medication is the main treatment for ADHD. Non-pharmacological treatment, as a supplement to medical treatment and an alternative treatment when there are drug contraindications, is simple, feasible and has a good long-term effect, which is receiving more and more attention. Non-pharmacological treatment for ADHD including that psychosocial treatment, neurofeedback, cognitive training, noninvasive brain stimulation technique, sensory integration, traditional Chinese medicine, dietary intervention, etc.
