| Effect of targeted psychological intervention on anxiety, depression and quality of life in patients with refractory thyroid carcinoma targeted therapy |

Abstract Objective To investigate the effect of targeted psychological intervention on anxiety, depression and quality of life in patients with refractory thyroid carcinoma targeted therapy. Methods A total of 60 patients who received targeted therapy for refractory thyroid cancer in Union Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, from January 2015 to January 2017 were recorded as odd and even numbers according to the treatment time, they were randomly divided into the intervention group and the control group, with 30 patients in each group. The control group adopted general health education, and the intervention group carried out targeted psychological intervention on the basis of the control group. Anxiety, depression and quality of life were evaluated by the self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), self-rating depression scale (SDS) and the cancer quality of life questionnaire European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) QLQ-C30 (V3.0). Results Before intervention, there were no significant differences in SAS, SDS and EORTC QLQ-C30 (v3.0) between the two groups (P ＞ 0.05). After intervention, SAS and SDS in the intervention group were all decreased, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05); SDS score in the control group was lower than that before intervention, and the difference was statistically significant (P ＜ 0.05). Physical function, role, emotion, society, total health level, fatigue, pain, shortness of breath, and insomnia in the intervention group were statistically significant (all P ＜ 0.05). In the EORTC QLQ-C30 questionnaire, there was no statistically significant difference (P ＞ 0.05) except for the economic difficulties and the comparison with the control group, and the other indicators showed statistically significant differences (all P ＜ 0.05). Conclusion Targeted psychological intervention can improve anxiety, depression and quality of life in patients with refractory thyroid cancer targeted therapy.
