Effect of HPMC E3 on the improvement of melting wall sticking of Fructus Jujubae extractum in spray drying |

Abstract Objective To study the effect of hypromellose E3 (HPMC E3) on the melting wall sticking of Fructus Jujubae Extractum during spray drying. Methods A certain percentage of HPMC E3 were added to the total Fructus Jujubae Extractum to conduct the spray drying. The effect of HPMC E3 against the wall sticking effect of the spray drying was studied. Moreover, the spray drying parameters were investigated. The optimized effect was evaluated by the characterization of the critical physical attributes of the spray drying powder. Results The best formula consisted of 8% HPMC E3, and the optimal spray-drying parameters were composed of inlet air temperature of 120℃,1.05 bar atomization pressure, and 4.5 mL/min pump speed, respectively. Conclusion HPMC E3 is a vital role in improving the melting wall sticking of Fructus Jujubae Extractum.
