Abstract Objective To evaluate the effect of mindfulness therapy on the quality of life and negative emotions of patients with breast cancer after surgery. Methods Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on the impact of mindfulness therapy on the quality of life and negative emotions of patients with breast cancer after surgery were searched in six databases: Cochrane, PubMed, CBM, CNKI, Weipu and Wanfang according to the retrieval strategy, the search period was from the construction of the database to December 2019,the literature quality was evaluated by JBI evaluation criteria, RevMan 5.3 was used for meta analysis. Results After screening, 8 articles were finally included in the literature. Compared with the control group (routine care), the experimental group (routine care + midfulness therapy) could reduce the patient′s perceived pressure (MD = -5.18,95%CI [-8.44, -1.93], P < 0.000 01), anxiety (SMD = -6.56, 95%CI [-8.72, -4.40], P < 0.000 01), depression (SMD = -4.92, 95%CI [-5.92, -3.92], P < 0.000 01), and improve sleep quality (SMD = -3.65, 95%CI [-3.83, -3.47], P < 0.000 01). Conclusion Short-term mindfulness therapy has a positive and significant positive effect on reducing perceived stress, anxiety, depression and improving sleep quality in patients with breast cancer after surgery.
