Abstract Metabonomics, as an important branch of system biology, has attracted extensive attention and made great progress in the field of traditional Chinese medicine in recent years. This paper summarizes the application of liquid chromatograph-mass spectrometer (LC-MS) metabonomics technology in the chemical composition of traditional Chinese medicine in recent years. Metabonomics technology has the characteristics of high throughput, integrity and objectivity. It has remarkable advantages in the research of multi-component and multi-target traditional Chinese medicine. This paper introduces the development and characteristics of LC-MS metabonomics technology, analysis process and method, as well as its application in the research of traditional Chinese medicine, mainly including the application in the identification of authenticity, origin, authenticity, quality control and pharmacodynamic mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine. This paper mainly provides a new idea for the study of chemical constituents of traditional Chinese medicine, and provides reference for the identification, quality evaluation and pharmacodynamic mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine.
