| Studies on the current state of English translation of traditional Chinese medicine tourism texts for oversea audiences under the background of “The Belt and Road” |

Abstract In recent years, traditional Chinese medicine tourism has gradually emerged as another important way to promote Chinese culture. Therefore, the accurate, standardized and professional translation of traditional Chinese medicine tourism texts are urgently needed. Based on the skopos theory and field research, this study aims to reveal the existing problems in the translation of traditional Chinese medicine tourism texts and propose strategies. Our findings have shown that the common mistakes in English translations of traditional Chinese medicine tourism texts mainly include misspellings, grammatical errors, inconsistent translations, mistranslations, translation pretermission, and so on. Finally it′s suggested in the paper that the English translation of traditional Chinese medicine tourism texts should be revised in line with the principles so as to improve the overall quality of text translation and promote the healthy development of traditional Chinese medicine tourism as well.
