| Discussion on the theoretical connotation of “shaoyang as shu” based on the clinical efficacy of Xiaochaihu Decoction |

Abstract This article adopts the method of prescription syndrome, through summarizing the Treatise on Cold Pathogenic Diseases and the effect of Xiaochaihu Decoction, the representative prescription of regulating chang shaoyang cardinal, by modern doctors, to treat various diseases and syndromes, and explores the theoretical connotation of “shaoyang as shu”. It is concluded that the connotation of “shaoyang as shu” lies in that shaoyang is the pivot of air conditioning, the pivot of body fluid transport and the pivot of phase fire transport. It is concluded that the method of regulating the flow and reducing the sun can be used to treat the diseases related to air, water and fire.
