Effect of midwife simulated delivery education on the selection of delivery methods, labor process and the initial lactation in primiparas |

Abstract Objective To observe the effect of midwife simulated delivery education on the selection of delivery methods, labor process and initial lactation in primiparas, to provide new education methods for primiparas. Methods From January 2017 to December 2019, 120 primiparas in Department of Obstetrics, Wanbei Coal and Electricity Company General Hospital were selected as research objects. They were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method, with 60 primiparas in each group. The control group received routine delivery education; the observation group received midwife simulated delivery education on the basis of control group. The delivery methods, labor process, initiation lactation time, Apgar score 1 min after birth, postpartum hemorrhage, and maternal total satisfaction were recorded and compared between the two groups. Results There were no significant differences in delivery method, postpartum hemorrhage between the two groups (P > 0.05). Apgar score 1 min after birth and maternal total satisfaction rate of the observation group were higher than those of the control group (all P < 0.05). The first, second and third labor process, total labor process and initiation lactation time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group (all P < 0.05). Conclusion The midwife simulated delivery education has a higher application value for the primiparas. Compared with traditional delivery education, the labor process and initiation lactation time are shorter, which is conducive to improving nursing satisfaction.
