| Effect of pyeloureteroplasty combined with internal drainage in the treatment of severe hydronephrosis caused by UPJO in children |

Abstract Objective To investigate the effect of pyeloureteroplasty combined with internal drainage in the treatment of severe hydronephrosis caused by UPJO in children. Methods From October 2017 to April 2019, 140 children with severe hydronephrosis who admitted to Department of Urology, Hebei Children′s Hospital were selected as study objects. According to the surgical method, they were divided into group A (72 cases) and Group B (68 cases). Group A was treated with double J tube drainage after pyeloureteroplasty, and group B was treated with ureteral stent + renal fistulas after pyeloureteroplasty. Duration of operation, extubation and hospital stay were compared between two groups, and occurrence of complications within six months after operation and recovery were compared between two groups. Results The duration of extubation and hospital stay in group A were shorter than those in group B (P < 0.05). People of postoperative complications in group A was less than that in group B (P < 0.05). There were no significant differences in operation time and the incidence of hydronephrosis between two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion Pyeloureteroplasty combined with internal drainage in the treatment of severe hydronephrosis caused by UPJO in children can shorten the extubation and hospital stay time, more safety and have similar therapeutic effect with external drainage.
