| Observation on the curative effect of Tangtong Lotion combined with electromagnetic therapy for early diabetic foot |

Abstract Objective To investigate the curative effect of Tangtong Lotion combined with electromagnetic therapy for early diabetic foot. Methods Ninety-three patients with early diabetic foot treated in Department of Endocrinology, South Branch, Guang′anmen Hospital, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences from October 2014 to October 2016 were selected and randomly divided into treatment group (48 cases) and control group (45 cases). Both groups strictly controlled blood glucose, blood pressure and blood fat. The treatment group was added with Tangtong Lotion in foot bath with the function of electromagnetic therapy, lavipeditum for 20 min each day. The control group was given warm water in foot bath with the function of electromagnetic therapy, lavipeditum for 20 min each day. The continuous lavipeditum in both groups lasted for 6 months. The changes of glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), fasting blood glucose (FPG), C-reactive protein (CRP), blood fat [triacylglycerol (TG), cholesterol (CHO)] and total blood viscosity were observed. Results After treatment for 3, 6 months, the effective rates in the treatment group were all higher than those of control group, the differences were statistically significant (P ＜ 0.05). After treatment for 3, 6 months, the levels of HbA1c, FPG, CRP, TG, CHO, total blood viscosity in the two groups were all lower than those before treatment (P ＜ 0.05), which of treatment group were significantly lower than those of control group, the differences were statistically significant (P ＜ 0.05). Conclusion Tangtong Lotion combined with electromagnetic therapy has positive therapeutic effect on early diabetic foot, which is safe and effective.
