Effect of early multidisciplinary team in the prevention and treatment of acquired weakness in ICU |

Abstract Objective To explore the effect of early multidisciplinary team in the prevention and treatment of acquired weakness in ICU. Methods From June 2018 to June 2019, 112 patients with mechanical ventilation in the ICU of Department of Intensive Care Unit, Shiyan Taihe Hospital (Affiliated Hospital of Hubei University of Medicine) were selected as subjects. A total of 57 patients from June to December 2018 were in the control group, and 55 patients from January to June 2019 were in the observation group. The control group was given routine nursing, and the observation group used early multidisciplinary collaboration for intervention. The incidence of intensive care unit acquired weakness, the score of Barthel index, the time of getting out of bed, the mechanical ventilation time and ICU staying time were compared between the two groups. Results In the observation group, the incidence of intensive care unit acquired weakness was significantly lower than that in the control group (P < 0.01), the score of Barthel index was significantly higher than that in the control group (P < 0.01), and the time of getting out of bed, the mechanical ventilation time and ICU staying time were significantly shorter than those in the control group (P < 0.01). Conclusion Early multidisciplinary team model can effectively reduce the incidence of acquired weakness in ICU, it is worthy of clinical application to improve patients′ self-care ability and shorten the initial time of getting out of bed, mechanical ventilation time and ICU staying time.
