Application of bridge combined fixation system in humeral fracture |

Abstract Humeral fracture is a common clinical disease of orthopedics. There are diverse treatments of humeral fracture, but each one still has its own limitations. In view of these shortcomings, bridge combined fixation system, as a new internal fixation device, is gradually applied to the treatment of humeral fracture and has achieved satisfactory results. This study reviews relevant literature reports, summarizes the bridge-based internal fixation system research including origin and development, basic research, clinical application and other aspects of bridge-based internal fixation system. The result shows that the bridge-type combined internal fixation system has a good performance in many experiments such as materials science, biomechanics, biological effects and other experiments and can effectively treat some clinical diseases of orthopedics such as humeral comminuted fractures, surgical neck fractures of humerus, distal humerus fractures, simple humeral shaft fractures and so on, which demonstrates its superiority and provides the evidence for further popularizing the clinical application of the bridge combined internal fixation system.
