Abstract Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is one of the the most disabling late complications in diabetic patients, which has many problems during treatment such as time-consuming, slow effect, easy to relapse, etc. Currently, there are various treatment methods for DFU, which can be divided into basic treatment and adjuvant treatment except the treatment of primary disease. The basic treatment includes thorough debridement, unloading of wound pressure and infection control. The adjuvant therapy includes oxygen therapy, negative pressure therapy, recombinant human growth factor, energy therapy, etc. In recent years, there have been more and more clinical reports on the use of combination regimens for DFU treatment, which may provide a new direction for the development of DFU treatment. This paper briefly reviews the research progress of DFU in terms of its foundation and adjuvant therapy, so as to provide clinicians with ideas and help in choosing DFU combined therapy.
