Abstract Data mining is an emerging discipline. Its advantage lies in extracting and analyzing potential laws from huge databases and reflecting the essence of things from different aspects. The application of data mining technology can make traditional Chinese medicine information more intuitive, help to quickly obtain traditional Chinese medicine knowledge resources from a large number of literatures, discover new problems, and broaden research ideas. This paper analyzes the research results of data mining technology used in the field of traditional Chinese medicine in recent years by many scholars, and summarizes the application of data mining technology in traditional Chinese medicine, prescriptions, syndromes, treatment methods, famous experts′ experience, classic medical records and disease prevention, in order to provide reference for its further application.
