Investigation on the demand for on-the-job training of medical nurses in tertiary hospitals and its influencing factors |

Abstract Objective To investigate the status of post training needs of nursing assistants in tertiary hospitals of Jiangsu Province and analyze the influencing factors. Methods From April to May 2019, 330 nursing assistants from 11 tertiary hospitals in Jiangsu province were selected by cluster sampling. Their training demand scores were investigated through self-made questionnaire and the influencing factors of their training intentions were analyzed according to the general demographic data. Results Different educational level, whether to obtain the national recognized professional qualifications and different types of health care workers, and the differences were statistically significant in on-the-job training demand (P < 0.05). Multi-factor analysis showed that education level, national recognized professional qualification and working mode were the main influencing factors of their training needs (P < 0.05). Conclusion The subjective intention of post training needs of nursing assistants is low. It is suggested that managers develop diversified training methods and scientific assessment system to ensure the quality of medical care services.
