Abstract Mental disease pathogenesis, clinical manifestations and therapeutic rehabilitation have unique complexity, which makes psychiatry get rid of the shackles of biomedical thinking mode earlier. Psychiatry is an early discipline that deeply implements the bio-psycho-social medical model in disease mechanism research and clinical practice. As human society has developed to today, mental and psychological diseases have become a major chronic disease affecting human health. The following is a review of the development of disease spectrum, clinical treatment medication and medical insurance reimbursement expenses in psychiatric hospitals. In order to understand the treatment and rationality of mental illness, with a view to providing reference for the diagnosis and treatment of mental health workers and the development of community mental health.
