Effect of personalized hyperextension of neck posture on vertebral artery hemodynamics in patients undergoing thyroid surgery |

Abstract Objective To explore the effect of personalized hyperextension of neck posture on vertebral artery hemodynamics in patients undergoing thyroid surgery. Methods From December 2016 to December 2018,112 cases with thyroid surgery admitted to Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital, the Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University Medicine School were divided. According to the random number table method, the patients were divided into the control group and the observation group, with 56 cases in each group. The control group was given routine thyroid surgery posture, while the observation group was given personalized hyperextension of neck posture. The incidence of postural syndrome, changes of bilateral vertebral artery blood flow in different carotid hyperextension positions and clinical satisfaction were compared. Results One week after operation, the incidence of posture syndrome of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the changes of bilateral vertebral artery of blood flow of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, while the clinical satisfaction of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (all P < 0.05). Conclusion Personalized hyperextension of neck posture can reduce the incidence of thyroid surgery position syndrome, improve changes of bilateral vertebral arteries blood flow, and improve satisfaction.
