| Effect of Ethinylestradiol and Cyproterone Acetate Tablets combined with Pioglitazone on endometrial insulin receptor expression, ovarian morphology, uterine morphology and islet function in patients with normal weight polycystic ovary syndrome |

Abstract Objective To investigate the effects of Ethinylestradiol and Cyproterone Acetate Tablets combined with Pioglitazone on endometrial insulin receptor expression, ovarian morphology, uterine morphology and islet function in patients with normal weight polycystic ovary syndrome. Methods A total of 80 patients with normal weight polycystic ovary syndrome admitted to Dongzhimen Hospital, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine from October 2017 to October 2018 were selected as the study subjects. They were divided into the control group and the experimental group according to the random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Ethinylestradiol and Cyproterone Acetate Tablets, while the experimental group was treated with Ethinylestradiol and Cyproterone Acetate Tablets combined with Pioglitazone. The expression of endometrial insulin and its receptor, ovarian morphology, uterine morphology and islet function before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results Before treatment, there were no statistically significant differences in endometrial insulin and its receptor expression, mean ovarian volume, endometrial thickness, and islet function between the two groups (P ＞ 0.05). Compared with before treatment, the endometrial insulin OD value, insulin receptor OD value, mean ovarian volume, endometrial thickness, islet β cell function index and insulin resistance index of the two groups were all decreased after treatment, the differences were statistically significant (all P ＜ 0.05). The endometrial insulin OD value, insulin receptor OD value, mean ovarian volume, endometrial thickness, islet cell function index and insulin resistance index of the experimental group affter treatment were all lower than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (all P ＜ 0.05). Conclusion Ethinylestradiol and Cyproterone Acetate Tablets or Ethinylestradiol and Cyproterone Acetate Tablets combined with Pioglitazone in the treatment of normal weight polycystic ovary syndrome can effectively reduce the expression of endometrial insulin and its receptor, improve the morphology of ovary and uterus, and enhance the function of pancreas islet, among which, Ethinylestradiol and Cyproterone Acetate Tablets combined with Pioglitazone has a more significant effect.
