Relationship between serum LRRFIP1 level and platelet function in patients with hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy |

Abstract Objective To investigate the correlation between serum leucine repeat sequence interacting protein 1 (LRRFIP1) and platelet function in patients with hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy. Methods From January 2016 to December 2018, 150 patients with hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy in Zaozhuang Maternal and Child Health Hospital of Shandong Province (hereinafter referred to as “our hospital”) were selected as the observation group, and patients in the observation group were divided into pregnancy hypertension group (n = 59), mild preeclampsia group (n = 48) and severe preeclampsia group (n = 43) according to the severity of patients′ condition. Another 50 healthy pregnant women who underwent prenatal examination in our hospital during the same period were selected as the control group. Serum levels of LRRFIP1, platelet count (PLT), mean platelet volume (MPV) and platelet distribution width (PDW) were measured and compared between the two groups. The correlation between LRRFIP1 level and PLT, MPV and PDW was analyzed by Pearson test. Results The levels of LRRFIP1, MPV and PDW of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, while the PLT was lower than that of the control group, and the differences between the two groups were statistically significant (P < 0.05). In the observation group, the levels of LRRFIP1, MPV and PDW gradually increased, while the levels of PLT gradually decreased with the aggravation of pregnancy induced hypertension, and the differences among the three groups were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Pearson correlation test showed that LRRFIP1 was negatively correlated with PLT (r = -0.471, P = 0.009) and positively correlated with MPV and PDW (r = 0.396, 0.364; P = 0.012, 0.016). Conclusion LRRFIP1 changes with the changes in the occurrence and development of the patients with hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy, indicating that LRRFIP1 may be involved in the pathogenesis of hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy and may affect the function of platelet.
