Effect observation of Astragalus Injection combined with large amount of Gamma Globulin in the treatment of acute severe viral myocarditis in children |

Abstract Objective To explore the effect of Astragalus Injection combined with large amount of Gamma Globulin in the treatment of acute severe viral myocarditis in children. Methods A total of 78 children with acute severe viral myocarditis in the 988th Hospital of PLA Joint Logistics Support Force from January 2016 to January 2019 were selected and divided into control group (n = 39) and observation group (n = 39) according to random number table method. The control group received routine treatment, while the observation group received Astragalus Injection combined with a large amount of Gamma Globulin. The clinical efficacy, inflammatory factors, myocardial enzymes levels and safety of two groups were compared before and after treatment. Results Total effective rate of observation group was significantly higher than that of control group (P < 0.05). After treatment, levels of IL-8, IL-17 and TNF-α in two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment, and those in observation group were significantly lower than the control group (P < 0.01). After treatment, CK-MB, LDH and CK levels in observation group were significantly lower than those before treatment, and those in observation group were significantly lower than the control group (P < 0.01). There were no obvious adverse drug reactions such as abnormal liver and kidney function in both groups. Conclusion Astragalus Injection combined with a large amount of Gamma Globulin in the treatment of acute severe viral myocarditis in children has a definite effect, which is worthy of popularization and application.
