| Effect of health belief model intervention on long-term home oxygen therapy behaviors in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease |

Abstract Objective To explore the effects of health belief model (HBM) intervention on long-term home oxygen therapy behaviors in COPD patients. Methods From June 2016 to January 2017, 68 patients with COPD in Peking University Shougang Hospital and China Medical University Aviation General Hospital were selected, and they were divided into control group and intervention group, according to throw coins, with 34 cases in each group．Patients of the control group were received routine nursing intervention and patients of the intervention group were received intervention based on HBM. Long-term home oxygen therapy behaviors of patients in the two groups before and after intervention were compared． Results Average daily oxygen time and long-term home oxygen therapy behaviors of two groups before the intervention had no significant differences (P > 0.05), while the two indexes of intervention group after the intervention were all better than those of control group and the results before the intervention, the comparison indexes had significant differences (P < 0.05); compared with the control group, there was significant difference in the implementation rate of items (P < 0.05). Conclusion Intervention based on HBM can improve the long-term home oxygen therapy behaviors and improve the quality of life of patients
