Lp-PLA2 level and its significance in patients with ischemic stroke |

Abstract Objective To investigate the level and significance of serum lipoprotein associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2) in patients with ischemic stroke, in order to analyze the correlation between Lp-PLA2 and cholesterol (CHO), low density lipoprotein (LDL) and triglyceride (TG). Methods From January 2015 to January 2016, 200 patients with ischemic stroke diagnosed and treated at Department of Neurology, Cangzhou People′s Hospital neurology department were selected as the experimental group, and 200 healthy cases were selected as control group, The serum levels of Lp-PLA2, CHO, LDL and TG in the two groups were detected. The collected data were analyzed by statistical software SPSS 17.0. The correlation was analyzed by Pearson test. Results The serum levels of Lp-PLA2, CHO, LDL and TG in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). The levels of Lp-PLA2 in patients with ischemic stroke were positively correlated with the levels TG, CHO, and LDL (r=0.689, 0.755, 0.889, P < 0.05). Conclusion The level of Lp - PLA2 in patients with ischemic stroke is increased, and it is correlated with the levels of TG, CHO, and LDL, which is one of the risk factors for ischemic stroke.
