| Clinical efficacy of Gimeracil and Oteracil Porassium Capsules combined with Cisplatin concomitant radiotherapy and radiotherapy treatment for elderly patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer |

Abstract Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Gimeracil and Oteracil Porassium Capsules combined with Cisplatin concomitant radiotherapy and radiotherapy treatment for elderly patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer. Methods 38 cases of elderly patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer treated in Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital the Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University Medical School were selected from March 2012 to March 2014. They were randomly divided into the observation group (n=19) and the control group (n=19) according to completely randomized grouping method. Patients of the observation group were treated with Gimeracil and Oteracil Porassium Capsules combined with medicine concomitant radiotherapy, and the patients of the control group were treated with radiotherapy only. The two groups both received 3 cycles of chemotherapy. The total effective rate, toxicity and 1-year survival rate of the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate was significantly higher in the observation group than that in the control gorup (P < 0.05). The incidence of radiation pneumonitis and esophagitis between the two groups had no significant differences (P > 0.05). The incidence of leucopenia reduction, blood platelet reduction, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea were significantly higher in the observation group than those in the control gorup (P < 0.05). 1-year survival rate was significantly higher in the observation group than that in the control gorup (P < 0.05). Conclusion Compared with the treatment of radiotherapy only, the clinical efficacy of Gimeracil and Oteracil Porassium Capsules combined with Cisplatin concomitant radiotherapy is significant, it can significantly improve the survival rate.
