Optimization of microbial limit test method for purified water |

Abstract Objective To establish a more scientific and reasonable purified water microbial limit test method. Methods Membrane filtration method (sample quantity: 1 mL and 10 mL) were used to do the test, and nutrient agar, rose bengal agar medium, plate count agar and R2A medium were used to demonstrate the microbiology separately. Results Membrane filtration method (sample quantity: 10 mL) and R2A were better than the routine method and the other medium with a much higher occurrence of total aerobic plate count. The detection rate was 1-2 times higher than the rate of other method and medium. Conclusion The selected testing sample quantity and culture medium are optimal, and the optimized test method will reflect the real quality of the purified water. The study will provide support for the testing improvement and quality control level.
