Abstract With the development of new materials and human body engineering mechanics, shoulder arthroplasty has gradually become the core of the shoulder joint surgery. Stemless shoulder arthroplasty is the forefront progress of the shoulder joint arthroplasty, it is better than standard primary anatomic total shoulder arthroplasty and shoulder resurfacing arthroplasty. Surgical operation of stemless shoulder arthroplasty is more simple, postoperative effect of stemless shoulder arthroplasty is better, stemless shoulder arthroplasty has played an important role in the development of shoulder surgery. This paper summarizes the historical evolution, the types of prosthesis, indications and contraindications, the related research results and the advantages and disadvantages of the stemless shoulder arthroplasty, and aims to provide the basis for guiding the clinical operation program.
